AVP, Operations

For our client, we are seeking an AVP Operations to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment. Location: Chicago, IL - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $200,000 – $225,000 annually Responsibilities Oversee operational workflows and resource allocation for underwriting teams Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) Monitor and analyze operational KPIs and efficiency metrics Partner with underwriters to resolve process bottlenecks Drive process improvement projects, including digital transformations Manage quality assurance practices across operations Support onboarding and training of operational staff to meet best practices Qualifications 5+ years of experience in insurance operations within Casualty or Specialty Lines Sound knowledge of P&C insurance products and underwriting processes Strong analytical skills, focusing on process mapping and reporting Experience in operational process optimization and performance management Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making Benefits Opportunity for professional development and training Engagement in cross-functional collaboration Access to advanced tools and technology in operations A focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence culture Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
