Responsibilities
- Leads a team of data engineers/managers or works in individual capacity as a principal data engineer.
- Provides direction in the life cycle of the solution and manages complex programs with significant business impact.
- Develops and implements data projects aligned with the line of business and/or functional data strategy and roadmap.
- Collaborates with architects and senior engineers to create optimal technical designs and approaches that meet business goals.
- Instills best practices for software development and documentation, ensuring designs meet requirements and delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Manages project priorities, plans projects and features, handles stakeholder management, and tracks external commitments.
- Supports the sharing of knowledge and best practices across the enterprise.
- Hires and retains top-tier talent to execute data platform projects.
- Develops and nurtures a team of senior data engineers and/or managers.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Expertise in Snowflake management, internals, billing, and query tuning.
- Experience using Cortex for query planning and semantic layer.
- Excellent communication skills for company-wide communication.
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Insurance domain experience.

- Knowledge of Snowflake and related technologies.
- Experience with data architecture and design principles.

Benefits
For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $173,000-$217,000, with eligibility for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. AIG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
