About the role

This role focuses on forging robust partnerships with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements and priorities across various lines of business. You will identify, assess, document, plan, and manage data solutions that enhance the Bank’s business intelligence and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, document, and define reporting and analytical solutions with business stakeholders to strategically improve their consumption and utilization of business data.
  • Partner with the Data Innovation Team architects and engineers to convey requirements for data and report development activities.
  • Create logical descriptive solution drawings, process flows, wireframes, and other supporting collateral to define the solution.
  • Support the creation of testing plans and test templates to ensure successful implementation of the solution.
  • Provide release planning coordination across data products and anticipate/mitigate roadblocks that impact the team’s ability to complete release objectives.
  • Prepare and update data documentation and limited training material to ensure successful feature implementation and adoption.
  • Build an understanding of assigned lines of business and work effectively with executive leaders, department heads, and subject matter experts using a proactive, professional, and team-oriented style.
  • Assist in project planning activities, including creation of deliverables, milestones, timelines, project assignments, and constraints/dependencies management.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks and opportunities, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Enable the data development lifecycle and adhere to the Bank’s development controls.
  • Maintain awareness of the business intelligence and analytics landscape to ensure leading-edge capabilities and practices are utilized within the Bank.
  • Provide post-development support by leading communication, outreach, and training, and by removing impediments that prevent releases, rollouts, and user adoption.
  • Promote and maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating leadership and communicating in a positive, professional manner with co-workers, management, partners, and vendors.
  • Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in performing essential job functions.
  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance, and follow Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in a data analyst, data science, or data engineering role, including direct experience in technical product management and/or data analysis activities.
  • Prior work experience in data product management preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Jira or similar task management platform.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI stack including SQL Server Database, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, SQL Reporting Services.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture including but not limited to Microsoft Azure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written methods.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations while emphasizing teamwork and team-based outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and grow organizational knowledge.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once, multitask, and meet exacting deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work alone or in group settings.
