The AVP will lead a newly formed AI team consisting of a Director, Manager, and Analyst, and will serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders across product, technology, marketing, customer experience, data, security, legal, and compliance. The role is accountable for delivering scalable, secure, ethical, and value-driven AI solutions that enhance customer experiences, support brand priorities, and position the company for long term growth. Responsibilities Strategy and Enterprise EnablementDefine and execute the consumer AI strategy aligned with enterprise business objectivesEstablish an AI operating model that supports prioritization, delivery, and measurable business valueIdentify and evaluate AI opportunities across customer engagement, marketing, revenue, and operational use cases AI Function Build Out and LeadershipBuild and scale the AI function, including organizational design, role clarity, hiring strategy, and team developmentLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing AI leadership teamEstablish operating rhythms, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks Product Roadmap and DeliveryOwn the AI product and capability roadmap from concept through deployment and adoptionOversee the development and deployment of AI-powered consumer experiencesEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards Governance, Policy, and ComplianceLead development of AI governance frameworks, usage policies, and standardsPartner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and Risk teams to ensure responsible AI practicesServe as an internal advisor on AI risk management, controls, and ethical considerations Cross-Functional and Cross-Brand CollaborationCollaborate regularly with Product, Technology, Marketing, Customer Experience, Digital, Data, and Security leadersSupport multiple cruise brands and shared services functions, subject to VP reviewAlign AI initiatives with brand strategies while enabling enterprise scale and consistencyCommunication and Executive EngagementProvide regular updates to executive leadership on AI strategy, progress, risks, and outcomesTranslate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable business insightsInfluence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across matrixed teams Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fieldProven experience in AI and machine learning product strategy and developmentDemonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and cross-functional teams10 or more years of experience in technology or digital product roles, including at least 5 years in AI or machine learningExperience building or scaling new functions, centers of excellence, or enterprise capabilitiesExperience delivering consumer-facing AI solutions in regulated, customer-centric environmentsStrong understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, governance, and responsible AI practicesProven track record of defining and executing product and capability roadmaps in complex organizations This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. The Associate Vice President of AI is responsible for defining, building, and executing the company’s consumer-facing AI strategy while establishing the foundational capabilities, governance, and operating model for AI across the enterprise. This role will create the AI function from the ground up, including team structure, policies, standards, and execution cadence. At Carnival, your total rewards package is much more than your base salary. All non-sales roles participate in an annual cash bonus program, while sales roles have an incentive plan. Director and above roles may also be eligible to participate in Carnival’s discretionary equity incentive plan. Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
