You will be a visible advisor to senior leadership and a go-to technical resource for the broader claims organization—driving outcomes, and elevating best practices across lines including General Liability, Business Auto, Excess/Umbrella, Inland Marine, and Professional Liability (including Programs and Middle Markets).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end strategy for complex coverage issues and litigation matters, including investigation, exposure assessment, reserve adequacy, and resolution planning.
  • Drive litigation management in complex settlements.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting and lead discussions with senior leadership, customers, and key stakeholders on high-profile matters, trends, and emerging case law.
  • Serve as a technical leader—staying current on insurance claim trends, commercial insurance laws, and regulations and ensuring alignment with company guidelines and fair claim practices.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives sponsored by the CTCO/Chief Claims Officer to strengthen complex-claims capability and operating discipline.
  • Partner with Claims, Underwriting, Legal, and the broader Technical Claims Office to align priorities, deliverables, and decision frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to partner with and influence claim executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Ease of operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with sound judgment and strong prioritization.
  • Executive-level communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across insureds, brokers, counsel, and internal business partners.
  • Strong analytical skills—able to synthesize complex facts and present crisp recommendations.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to work independently and lead through influence.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and analytics/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
