About the role

The AVP Banking Manager serves Monday–Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the branch located at 2605 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT. This role combines deposit and operational expertise to grow the branch’s deposit portfolio, lead the service team, and support the Branch Manager in driving overall branch growth. The manager works to capture deposits from lending activity and strengthen client relationships through proactive, service-oriented engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Deposit Growth and Relationship Expansion
    • Lead growth and management of the branch’s deposit portfolio, focusing on core deposits, operating accounts, and relationship-driven opportunities
    • Serve as the deposit product and service subject matter expert for clients and internal team members
    • Partner with the Branch Manager to ensure loan activity results in full-service banking relationships
    • Deepening existing relationships through proactive outreach, thoughtful conversations, and service reviews to uncover unmet needs
    • Contribute to key branch objectives including deposit growth, loan growth, profitability, and market share
  • Client Experience and Operational Oversight
    • Oversee day-to-day deposit operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high service standards in account opening, maintenance, and problem resolution
    • Manage onboarding for new consumer and business accounts, delivering a seamless and professional experience
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex service issues, particularly those involving high-value or commercial relationships
    • Maintain current knowledge of deposit regulations, policies, and internal procedures
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Directly supervise and support Banking Associates
    • Train and coach staff to strengthen product knowledge, service delivery, and client engagement skills
    • Promote cross-training, accountability, and operational readiness to ensure full team coverage and performance
    • Foster a collaborative, client-focused culture grounded in professionalism, responsiveness, and service excellence
  • Strategic Collaboration
    • Collaborate with the Branch Manager on budget planning, goal setting, and execution of growth strategies
    • Partner with Treasury Management, Online Banking, Wealth Management, and SBA Lending teams to deliver full-service solutions
    • Contribute to branch-level business development efforts and relationship expansion strategies
    • Support initiatives aimed at elevating client experience, improving profitability, and reinforcing market presence
  • Additional Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • 5+ years of banking experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Strong risk-based decision-making skills and ability to follow complex policies and procedures

Supervisory Requirements

  • Supervise a staff of four to eight employees consisting of Banking Associates

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office environment with prolonged sitting, standing, and mental/visual concentration for computer use
  • Ability to bend, turn, twist, lift, and move up to 30 pounds of office supplies, equipment, and coin
  • Position is not telework eligible; all duties must be performed in the branch or office
  • Travel may be required between branches, to training/meetings, and customer visits
  • Regular and punctual attendance is essential

Pay

Compensation is within the range associated with this position and will be based on qualifications and experience.
