About the role

Join United Airlines' Technical Operations team as a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) at one of our domestic hubs. In this vital role, you will provide service and maintenance for aircraft systems, powerplant, airframe, and components. Your duties will include inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement and repair, as well as routine maintenance to keep our fleet flight-ready.

You’ll work on larger, highly sophisticated aircraft, collaborating with a team of professionals in a 24/7 operation. The position requires strong mechanical competence, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and routine maintenance on aircraft systems, powerplant, airframe, and components
  • Troubleshoot, replace, and repair parts as needed
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Access elevated aircraft areas using ladders, lift trucks, boom lifts, and other devices
  • Collaborate professionally with co-workers to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability to meet flight schedules
  • Be available for any shift, including weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED/educational equivalent
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen upon contingent job offer
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to train
  • Physical strength to lift 50 pounds and flexibility to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Schedule
