Responsibilities

  • Meet all FAA and safety-related requirements
  • Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems
  • Make timely, critical decisions regarding aircraft safety
  • Responsible for proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork
  • In a hangar environment, perform avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads), and troubleshooting systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Hold a valid, unrestricted, driver's license
  • Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P certificate
  • Must meet one of the following experience/training criteria:
    • Graduated from an accredited avionics school
    • Military training in avionics or electronics
    • Associate’s degree or higher in electronics
    • Eighteen months’ experience in the avionics industry
  • Familiar with, read, and understand company, manufacturer, and wire-diagram manuals, including schematics
  • Possess basic avionics skills
  • Work history demonstrates being a self-starter, working well in a team environment, and effectively using aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Possess a minimum set of tools (see minimum tool list)
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
  • Must hold a FCC GROL license. If not held at time of employment, it must be obtained within six months from hire date

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation

This position will require the selected candidate to travel outside the station for training in addition to the completion of their new hire onboarding.
