About the role
As a SkyWest A&P Mechanic, you will be part of a dynamic team that works nose-to-tail on our growing fleet of aircraft. This role offers opportunities to develop new skills, join a supportive community of mechanics, and make a significant impact on SkyWest operations.
Responsibilities
- Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems
- Make critical decisions regarding aircraft safety in a timely manner
- Proficiently handle all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork
- Perform avionics inspections, routine maintenance (like FOQA downloads), and troubleshooting systems in a hangar environment
- Test, troubleshoot, and complete repairs on components in a shop environment
- May be required to work on aircraft systems
- May apply for Avionics Tech position to acquire FCC Radio License
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Valid FAA-issued A&P certificate
- Preferred experience and training in avionics, electronics, or related fields
- Eighteen months' experience in the avionics industry
- Must meet all FAA and safety requirements
- Familiar with manuals, schematics, and aircraft maintenance procedures
- Self-starter, team player, and effective manual user
- Comfortable lifting 60 lbs. routinely
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Basic avionics skills and a minimum set of tools
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited avionics school
- Military training in avionics or electronics
- Associate's degree or higher in electronics
- Eighteen months' experience in the avionics industry
- A&P certification with previous avionics experience
