About the role
The Lead Technician oversees, directs, and orientates Technicians to execute their work in accordance with task requirements and company procedures, ensuring compliance with FAA/EASA regulations and OEM MPDs. The role aims to deliver efficient, high-quality work with safety as the top priority, exceeding customer satisfaction in re-delivering airworthy, reliable, and clean aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide Technicians in adhering to Task Cards/MPDs, Repair Station Manual, FAA regulations, and other required documents.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean work area.
- Monitor and manage Man Hours, ensuring proper allocation of labor and materials.
- Collaborate with Inspectors to prevent unnecessary delays and ensure efficient workflow.
- Report part requirements to the Project Manager and ensure purchase orders and parts consumption are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
- Oversee the tagging and storage of aircraft components, parts, and panels.
- Communicate with the Project Manager about progress, roadblocks, and necessary schedule alterations.
- Participate in OJT programs and coordinate with the Training department.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professional behavior, integrity, and compliance with company policies.
Requirements
- Current FAA Airframe or Repairman's certificate.
- At least 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience as an Avionics Technician.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Skills
- Proficiency in oral and written English.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and OEM MPDs.
- Ability to handle tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Proactive approach to maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
