Airbus Helicopters is seeking a visionary Avionics Systems Integration Engineer / Architect to serve as the technical mastermind behind the brains of our world-class aircraft. In this role, you will specify, design, and integrate the critical global architecture for our legendary fleet, including the H125, H130, H135, H145, and H160.

Location

This role is based at Airbus Helicopters U.S. regional headquarters in a suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, where we employ over 1,000 people.

Responsibilities

  • Define System/Integration architectures in accordance with engineering operation requirements to meet customer, airworthiness, general engineering standards, and company requirements.
  • Validate design solutions using simulation, modeling, and predictive tools.
  • Define and approve verification methods (analysis, tests, etc.), elaborate verification programs including EMI/EMC, general environment, vibrations, thermal analysis, and deliver results to the Airworthiness team.
  • Design, develop, and review technical documents and engineering drawings for avionics and electrical equipment integration and interfaces.
  • Create and/or review Installation Instructions and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
  • Provide liaison support to internal and external customers for aircraft integration and conformity efforts (suppliers, planning, industry, quality, etc.).
  • Coordinate with FAA DERs and ODA Unit Members in support of certification requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical degree or relevant experience.
  • 7 years of experience (or verifiable demonstrated equivalent) in aircraft systems design, development, integration, and certification.
  • 10% domestic and international travel availability.
  • Avionic architecture and electrical systems knowledge.
  • Familiarity with System Engineering standards (ARP 4754, DO-160).
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR definition (e.g., U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or covered under our existing ITAR license).

Physical Requirements

  • Onsite: 100% daily, except when traveling.
  • Vision: Ability to see and read computer screens, electronic equipment, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Ability to participate in conversations in person, via teleconference, or phone, and hear safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Ability to communicate in conversations, meetings, and deliver information.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate office and personal electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: Ability to carry documents, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 10 lbs daily.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift documents, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 10 lbs daily.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push and pull small office furniture occasionally.
  • Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods during meetings or computer work.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Ability to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally.
  • Standing: Ability to stand for discussions in offices daily.
  • Walking: Ability to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Steel-toed shoes required for shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required.
