Role Overview

Support avionics software engineering for a major USAF F-16 upgrade program, focusing on developing, integrating, verifying, and certifying complex software systems, including Operational Flight Program (OFP), radar, and display processors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and implementation of OFP software updates, ensuring adherence to requirements and standards.
  • Support the engineering, design, and integration of avionics software components, including mission computers, sensors, and weapons systems.
  • Participate in verification, qualification, and airworthiness certification activities.
  • Maintain oversight of the development of System Integration Lab (SIL) and coordinate requirements with stakeholders.
  • Resolve software anomalies, defects, and related issues, supporting program review meetings and requirement refinement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Active or current top-secret security clearance.
  • ABET-accredited engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering (degrees in technology not accepted).
  • 10+ years of related experience with a master’s or doctorate preferred; or 12+ years with a bachelor’s degree; or 15+ years of relevant experience with proper certifications.
  • Expertise in U.S. military aircraft OFP development, translating and re-hosting programs, and proficiency in C++.
  • Strong understanding of avionics systems, software development lifecycle, and aircraft certification processes.
