Avionics Line Master Technician
Essential Job Functions
- Consistently and efficiently troubleshoots and repairs or overhauls avionics components and instruments, including "quick turns" and highly complex units, using the appropriate test equipment and technical publications, according to manufacturer specifications, customer expectations and Duncan approved procedures.
- Orders parts needed to complete the work.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation.
- Performs additional specialized technical or operational duties as assigned by management, such as:
- Operating in multiple areas or teams of the shop, Avionics Line and Accessory;
- Routinely providing technical assistance to the aircraft maintenance department, components technical representatives and other departments;
- Special projects and programs (i.e. developing and implementing specialized training programs, developing and implementing processes to improve workflow and increase efficiencies, coordinating line services, coordinating calibration schedules for test equipment, etc.).
Job Specific Requirements
- Licenses/Certificates: Eligibility for QI designation.
- Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required.
- Physical: Routinely lifts 10 lbs., occasionally 50 lbs.; identifies colors; tolerates standing and sitting; reads small print; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance.
- Environmental: Tolerates working in a noisy environment.
Education And Experience
- Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum five years previous avionics/instrument repair or related experience required with a minimum two years consistently performing duties of an Avionics/Instrument Tech III preferred.
