Avionics Electrical Technician 4

About the Role

Perform advanced operational, functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics/electrical systems to ensure a defect-free aircraft. Lead by example, providing technical guidance and direct training to support cross-functional workforce development. Provide superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to ensure minimum schedule impact. Demonstrate technical expertise and leadership by defining and implementing process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising Safety or Quality. Demonstrate the knowledge and leadership skills required to fill in for the team leader, ensuring that company goals of Safety and Quality are enforced at all times while adhering to daily work plans to maintain schedule requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install and functionally test avionics/electrical components per engineering specifications, drawings, and maintenance manuals
• Diagnose system discrepancies and execute timely, high-quality repairs to minimize schedule impact
• Repair or replace wiring and components using approved techniques including splicing, soldering, and pinning
• Perform and oversee compliance with engineering changes and modifications
• Set up and operate test equipment; conduct performance and reliability evaluations
• Ensure all work is properly documented in logs and maintenance records
• Pre-inspect work prior to quality inspection to reduce rework and improve efficiency
• Support team leadership responsibilities to ensure Safety, Quality, and schedule adherence
• Teach installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per Engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals
• Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program and all safety regulations
• Adapt to sudden schedule changes; coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects
• Where required, perform self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas
• In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Six (6) years of avionics/electrical experience; or two (2) years of accredited aviation electronics schooling and four (4) years of related experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in aircraft avionics systems
• Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor others in a team-based environment
• A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred
• Gulfstream experience on mid-cabin and large-cabin aircraft preferred
• Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations and repairs preferred
• APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to work any shift
