Essential Job Duties
- Maintains compliance with project documents/project contracts, state and federal regulations, and industry safety standards.
- Monitors and evaluates safety issues during construction projects and processes.
- Prepares daily inspection reports and periodic progress reports on corrective measures.
- Assists in planning, developing, and implementing training programs for construction projects.
- Reviews safety program performance and safety metrics on construction projects.
- Conducts accident investigations and injury/illness/accident reports.
- Conducts workplace audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards and laws, and provides recommendations for improvement.
- Provides input and feedback to subcontractors and work colleagues to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately.
Required Qualifications
- A High School diploma or G.E.D. and ten (10) years of experience in construction safety, accident prevention, loss control, and/or risk management.
- Two (2) years as a safety inspector in commercial facilities construction.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to apply technical knowledge to inspection and testing results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively, and professionally.
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Skills
Knowledge of construction safety, accident prevention, loss control, and risk management. Experience in commercial facilities construction. Proficiency in safety inspection and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
