About the role
The Albany, NY office is seeking an Aviation Project Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for growing our Albany Aviation group by managing and delivering projects for airports, general aviation airports, and Department of Defense airport facilities.
Responsibilities
- Interface directly with clients including Airport Authorities, State Aviation Authorities, and Department of Defense representatives.
- Manage all aspects of airport infrastructure project development.
- Prepare project Scope of Services and engineering fees, establish project goals, milestones, and procedures, define roles and responsibilities, coordinate project resources, and monitor project progress.
- Lead the preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications.
- Provide guidance to Resident Engineers during construction.
- Lead the preparation of grant administration paperwork for the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
- Actively participate in the marketing process by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service, and assisting with project pursuits.
- Take an active mentoring role; encourage, motivate, and develop others for high performance; ensure that mistakes become learning experiences.
Requirements
- Experience with FAA’s Airport Improvement Program procedures and Advisory Circulars is preferred.
- Strong aviation infrastructure design experience.
- Strong client interaction and relationship skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, strong attentiveness to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers with a focus on mentoring staff and nurturing organic growth within a dynamic team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of design, project management, or construction administration experience relating to airport infrastructure.
- Active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New York.
