Aviation Project Manager

About the role

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Aviation Civil Engineer/Project Manager located in Texas (Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, or Austin) to execute and oversee planning, design, and construction for current and future commercial service and general aviation airport clients. This position is a leadership role within the local office and the aviation practice. The candidate will actively work together with regional aviation leadership to grow the aviation practice in Texas by focusing on project excellence, client management, team recruitment and business plan development and execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform programming, design and construction engineering for statewide aviation projects
• Develop construction plans and specifications for airside and landside projects, with experience in airfield pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation, hangars, and general airport improvement projects
• Prepare construction cost estimates, write reports and develop client presentations
• Provide construction engineering services including shop drawing review and responses to contractor questions
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (cost estimators, GIS, designers, architects, and other engineers)
• Maintain ultimate performance for delivery of project quality and safety
• Build the backlog of the business, market services and capabilities, and pursue new opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field required
• 7+ years of experience in aviation and aviation engineering
• Preferred TX Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain
• Excellent English language skills, written and verbal
• Aptitude for communicating with owner/client staff, contractors, and subconsultants
• Ability to quickly get up to speed on policy, procedures and relevant software while acquiring an understanding of the company's service offerings, and the client's standards and procedures relevant to your projects
• Commitment to and confirmed track record of safely delivering projects on time, under budget, and of the utmost quality
• Dedication to project goals, client satisfaction, corporate aspirations, business development, growth objectives, staff development, and operational excellence
• Bright, organized, and determined; ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people
• Ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligations

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of FAA Design Circulars and Construction Specifications
• Background in geometric layout of airfield facilities
• Experience with TxDOT Aviation project delivery is preferred

Pay

$120,000 to $175,868 per year. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
