About the role
The Aviation Project Engineer leads the planning, design, and execution of aviation-related civil engineering projects within Parkhill’s Aviation Practice. This role requires specialized knowledge in airport infrastructure and airfield design.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and delivery of civil engineering projects at airports including runways, taxiways, aprons, grading, drainage, and access roadways
- Serve as Engineer of Record on aviation infrastructure projects
- Oversee and review construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Coordinate project scope, schedule, budget, and resources with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with FAA Advisory Circulars, State DOT Aviation guidelines, and local regulations
- Conduct site visits and provide construction administration support
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional engineer license (PE)
- Minimum 7 years of civil engineering experience
- Knowledge of FAA and State DOT Aviation standards and processes
- Familiarity with FAA AIP funding
Skills
- Experience with software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Ability to lead project design start to finish, considering time, cost, and resources
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and workplace safety regulations
