About the role

Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and developing plans for runway, taxiway, and apron improvements at major hub and regional airports
- Contribute to preliminary layouts and final engineering drawings using industry-standard tools
- Support research on design alternatives, value engineering, and airfield site conditions
- Help evaluate FAA and other regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
- Prepare preliminary estimates for project costs, materials, and level of effort
- Participate in quality control reviews, including checking calculations, drawings, and design accuracy
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including planners, environmental specialists, and construction professionals
- Gain field experience by observing airfield and apron construction activities, as applicable
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- 4+ years of experience (internships or relevant coursework in aviation or highways preferred)
- Strong interest in airport infrastructure, airfield design, or transportation engineering
- Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast-paced aviation environment
- Exposure to aviation or highway design projects is highly desirable
- Familiarity with CAD or civil engineering design tools preferred
- Interest in working on runway expansions, taxiway geometry, or apron layout design
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years of experience in aviation or related fields
Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in CAD or civil engineering design tools
- Experience with FAA and other regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Pay
Depending on skills, experience, and geographical location, the expected compensation range is between $100,000 - $150,000 annually.
