Aviation Electrician II (UH-60)

About the Role

This position involves integrating wires and harnesses into aircraft, troubleshooting systems and subsystems, and assisting with scheduled maintenance. The role requires adherence to technical manuals, drawings, and modification work orders, as well as compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Integrate wires and harnesses into aircraft.
• Troubleshoot systems and subsystems to meet customer needs.
• Follow drawings, blueprints, instructions, Modification Work Orders, and Technical Manuals.
• Assist Aircraft General Mechanics with scheduled maintenance.
• Terminate connectors, including coaxial cables.
• Clamp harnesses and conduct Maintenance Operational Checks and Acceptance Test Procedures.
• Troubleshoot faulty systems using test sets, multimeters, DMC crimp tools, wire strippers, heat guns, and other equipment.
• Perform soldering as required.
• Conduct regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
• Perform continuity and power checks.
• Operate Ground Support Equipment (e.g., Power Cart, Tug, Forklift).
• Provide own tools except for specialty tools.
• Remove, inspect, repair, and reinstall aircraft parts and systems.
• Annotate logbook and workbook entries in accordance with service or contractual guidance.
• Maintain cleanliness and utilize a clean-as-you-go process during maintenance duties.
• Comply with processes and procedures as per DHS/Department of Defense (DOD) documents and publications.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations; report accidents, injuries, or unsafe practices to supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of aviation experience, including 2 years using military standards and specifications.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
• Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
• Capability to carry items up to 40 pounds; assistance required for heavier items.
• Ability to work in cramped, awkward, or strained positions, including climbing ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
• Capability to perform tasks requiring prolonged lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching.

• Ability to read and interpret aircraft instruments, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance on UH-60 V or UH-60 M aircraft preferred.
• Advanced wire repair preferred.
• FAA A&P or FCC license preferred.
