About the role

We are seeking a full-time Aftermarket Aviation Associate Sales Manager 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. This role involves assisting department Vice Presidents, Directors, and Sales Managers in increasing revenues and market share through the sale and support of Garmin products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Build/present product presentations demonstrating basic knowledge of Garmin products and showing a good level of comfort presenting in front of customers
  • Show ability to provide timely trip notes after customer visits with a good level of detail; and submit weekly reports with appropriate detail/on time
  • Cultivate successful internal/external customer relationships that focus on mutual benefit, maximizing the partnership potential, and driving to consistently meet/exceed customer expectations
  • Participate in trade shows to demonstrate products and articulate competitive benefits of Garmin products and systems
  • Identify opportunities for expanding our product line to serve customer needs
  • Contribute customer, market, and product knowledge to internal cross-functional teams
  • Work with all necessary departments on new product introduction and ensure that all special requirements for the aviation group are implemented/adhered to
  • Occasionally visit Garmin customers and partners with Sales Managers
  • Aid in special projects and Project Management as assigned
  • Demonstrate at least some limited knowledge of the aviation industry and Garmin aviation products
  • Become the recognized alternate Garmin point of contact for Dealer partners, initiate follow-up, and be a customer advocate for them within our organization
  • Support Sales Managers/Directors with development and execution of marketing memos, presentations, business and trade-show/event planning with periodic oversight from management or the team
  • Aid in the development/execution of marketing, advertising and promotional activities
  • Aid in the development/management of dealer incentives and programs
  • Work with all necessary departments on new product introduction, including pricing and marketing efforts, and monitor that special requirements for the aviation group are implemented/adhered to
  • Aid in the development/management of well-organized/impactful webinar schedule and manage content for webinars
  • Aid in the timely management/facilitation of accurate and engaging responses for the Aviation Sales email inbox with periodic oversight
  • Demonstrate ability to support Sales Managers and Directors with monthly and quarterly sales reports, rebate programs, and shipset tracking
  • Facilitate regular changes to the Price List and Marketing Program booklet

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of equivalent field relevant experience for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description
  • Private Pilot’s License, aviation technical background, or proficiently demonstrate the ability to sell the added benefits of Garmin aviation products to customers
  • Team and detail oriented, possess a positive attitude, and a strong passion and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • Able to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision and be able to prioritize, multi-task and stay organized in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess demonstrated analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered
  • Prioritize and organize tasks with keen attention to detail and quality – must take great pride in the work you produce
  • Particular emphasis and expertise using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to travel (25% of time or greater)

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR a minimum of 4 years of equivalent field relevant experience for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description
