AV Design Engineer 3 - Tysons, VA

Responsibilities

• Create Drawing Packages and Bill of Materials in CAD.
• Design and test of complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, video walls and matrix systems, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, document cameras, streaming technologies, etc.) and A/V based collaboration technologies.
• Design and test and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems including IP networks and ISDN networks.
• Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Develop test plans for complex AV control system functional acceptance tests of AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
• Develop and conduct on-site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems.

Qualifications

• Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information.
• Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Engineering Discipline with 5+ years' OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Engineering Discipline with 3+ years' of progressive experience in the following:
• Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects.
• Demonstrated experience performing technical cross-training/coaching of junior colleagues.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time.
• Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V and electrical equipment including related materials and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience performing complex design/build and conceptual design practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• AutoCAD experience, or experience drafting with a similar drafting software.
• Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills with the ability and experience communicating directly with executive leadership.
• Solid problem solving and consultative skills in a fast-paced environment.
