Job Responsibilities
- Cultivates professional, environmentally conscious, and safe work practices.
- Maintains operational efficiency, unit reliability, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Participates in team-oriented, multi-disciplinary operations, executing tactical processes.
- Oversees and performs routine and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Executes lockout/tagout procedures as directed by the Shift Operations Manager.
- Works in a shift-based, rotating schedule, including overtime, callouts, outages, weekends, and holidays.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- OPERATIONS - Experience in combined cycle power plant operations, including startup/shutdown, equipment monitoring, and emergency response.
- ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE PREFERRED - Troubleshooting and correction of electrical issues, including switchgear, motors, breakers, and plant wiring.
- INSTRUMENT AND CONTROL PREFERRED - Calibration, repair, tuning, and replacement of complex instrumentation and control systems.
- MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE PREFERRED - Diagnosis and resolution of mechanical issues, such as combustion turbines, steam turbines, pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.
Experience
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience at a combined-cycle power plant or equivalent facility.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining combustion turbine generating stations and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Experience with Siemens 501F turbines preferred.
- Strong understanding of dispatch protocols.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
Education Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be a United States citizen (sponsorship not available).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including cold and hot temperatures, dusty, greasy, and oily environments, and noisy areas.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data.
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
- Wears personal protective safety equipment as needed.
