About the Role
This retail sales position is part of a team focused on delivering best-in-class customer care. With strong product knowledge, a solid work ethic, and positive performance evaluations, you can advance to roles like Parts Specialist or Retail Sales Lead. The role requires a proactive selling spirit and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet store sales goals. You will be present during peak customer traffic periods, including weekends, sale days, and other high-traffic occasions, as determined by the store schedule.
Responsibilities
- Work safely at all times, adhering to Pick-n-Pull’s safety culture, requirements, and PPE guidelines.
- Collaborate with your team to drive individual and shared goals, delivering desired results.
- Welcome and proactively engage with customers to ensure they receive assistance.
- Complete sales training and apply the Pick-n-Pull 5 Step Sales Model, while continuing to build skills through ongoing training.
- Follow loss prevention, risk management, quality assurance, and cash-handling guidelines.
- Escalate customer situations requiring leadership support to a manager.
- Support store operations by completing housekeeping, janitorial, and other assigned duties (e.g., cleaning tires, carrying batteries, mopping floors).
- Uphold integrity in every interaction and transaction.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This role operates in both indoor and outdoor environments within an auto salvage yard, with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, automotive fluids, and noise from machinery and customer activity. A variable schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak sale days, is required. Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
Requirements
- Customer service experience or the ability to perform effectively in customer-facing roles.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, occasional overtime, and at any nearby store location assigned by management.
- Able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling customer payments across multiple payment methods.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Familiarity with automotive parts and the ability to recognize them, including basic product details.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 40 pounds for customer care, product relocation, and facility maintenance. Manual dexterity is essential for handling tools, performing housekeeping duties (e.g., mopping, sweeping), and completing assigned tasks. Sufficient vision and the ability to remain on your feet for the entire work shift are necessary to perform all job functions safely and effectively.
