Position Summary

UDRI is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the SPIRE group. You will work in a collaborative team environment using state-of-the-art AI and analytic tools (e.g., Go, Python, Rust, Spark, PyTorch, TensorFlow) to develop consistent and reliable software. You will leverage CI, containerization, Kubernetes, and CD, and containerization. The role involves guiding the process to translate research innovations into robust, scalable solutions.

The team offers flexibility to explore and utilize new technologies for the benefit of the AI/ML community. Projects have a direct connection with customers and end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Design, coding, testing, deployment, and support in a team environment
  • Linux operating system
  • Python programming language
  • Source code version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Statically typed programming language experience (e.g., C/C++, GO, Rust, Java, C#)
  • Machine learning operations (ML Ops), distributed systems, and tools such as Kubernetes, CI/CD, containerization (Docker or similar)
  • Writing network services
  • GO programming language

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in Software Development (R2)
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Development (R3)
  • Experience in design, coding, testing, deployment, and support in a team environment
  • Linux operating system experience
  • Python programming language experience
  • Source code version control systems (e.g., Git) experience
  • Statically typed programming language experience (e.g., C/C++, GO, Rust, Java, C#)

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Rigorous software development skills
  • Professional experience with machine learning operations (ML Ops), distributed systems, and tools such as Kubernetes, CI/CD, containerization (Docker or similar)
  • Writing network services experience
  • Solid experience in GO programming language
  • Interest or working knowledge of machine/deep learning, artificial intelligence, and/or autonomous systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
