Duties Identifies improperly functioning parts for repair or replacement using on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment.Determine whether parts should be cleaned or replaced. Install, adjust and set automotive systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and tests the completed product.Knowledge of the various techniques for removing, replacing, cleaning and installing parts and components. Skill to make adjustments and settings and in the operation of tools and equipment used.Understanding of diagnostic and test equipment; the make-up and operation of systems and their interrelationship. Decides on the methods and techniques to use.Duties are performed independently in accordance with accepted trade practices and guides. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and 50 pounds or more with assistance.Physical Effort: Stands and works in uncomfortable positions for extended periods. Frequently lift, handle, and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally move moderately heavy (50 pounds or more) items with assistance.Working Conditions: Work areas are dirty, oily and greasy. Constantly exposed to cuts, bruises and vehicle fluids which may cause burns or irritate the skin.Must be available to work Wednesday - Friday 10:00am until 8:00pm, Saturday 8:00am - 6:00pm. Work schedule will include weekends, evenings, and holidays.Drug test is required.Possess a valid drivers license and clean driving record.Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
