Automotive Worker NA-08

This position is located at Defense Logistics Agency Susquehanna in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

Duties

• Identifies improperly functioning parts for repair or replacement using on-board computer diagnostic systems and other test equipment.
• Determines whether parts should be cleaned or replaced.
• Installs, adjusts, and sets automotive systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and tests the completed product.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2.
• Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Stands and works in uncomfortable positions for extended periods.
• Applicant must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally, move moderately heavy items with assistance or with mechanical devices, including objects weighing up to or over 50 lbs.
• The incumbent is required to undergo and complete a pre-employment physical.

• A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following:
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds (occasionally, move objects over 50 pounds with assistance or with mechanical devices).
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s permit.
  • Have work experience performing the identified duties.
  • Be able to work independently.
• A Highly Preferred Applicant Will Have The Following (Highly Preferred applicants will be referred to management first):
  • Possess a Pennsylvania State inspection and emissions license.

Pay

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees:

• Earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week — whichever gives the employee more benefit.
• Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays.
• May be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
