Automotive Test Engineer
About the role
Are you a hands‑on problem solver who loves digging into the data to make products safer, stronger, and more reliable? We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to spearhead product validation and testing activities for next‑generation automotive components and systems. In this role, you will be the critical link between design concept and real‑world performance. You won’t just run tests—you will own the entire validation lifecycle, from configuring advanced data acquisition systems to troubleshooting design anomalies and delivering engineering solutions that elevate product quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complex automotive components and systems.
- Prepare, calibrate, and configure specialized test equipment, sensors, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
- Conduct rigorous physical and functional validation testing in strict accordance with engineering standards.
- Analyze and interpret complex test data to pinpoint design bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and recommend concrete corrective actions.
- Verify testing accuracy, identify gaps in testing coverage, and lead root‑cause investigations for testing anomalies.
- Partner closely with design, development, and cross‑functional engineering teams; document findings in detailed technical reports and high‑impact presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or 6+ years of equivalent, hands‑on experience).
- 5+ years of dedicated automotive test engineering experience.
- Strong mastery of test planning, validation methodologies, physical test setup, and data analysis.
- Proven experience with instrumentation, test equipment setup, and data acquisition systems.
- Exceptional ability to interpret complex technical specifications, engineering drawings, and regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep familiarity with automotive product development phases and validation workflows.
- Strong working knowledge of automotive regulatory frameworks and internal validation standards.
- Confident communication skills with a track record of presenting technical findings to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
