About the Role
The Service Technician is responsible for understanding and completing routine mechanical repairs required to recondition vehicles to a high company standard. In addition, the Technician will perform general maintenance and diagnoses with assistance and adequately use the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle. The Technician will make a quality check after each repair and inform the Service Manager of any changes or deviations from the original repair order.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality repairs on assigned repair orders, ensuring the vehicle is fixed right the first time and conducting a quality check after each repair
- Conduct road tests to determine the work required
- Advise the Service Manager of needed repairs, including parts needed, and report any changes or deviations from the original repair instructions
- Complete comprehensive documentation of cause/correction, specifications, and other pertinent repair information
- Ensure current knowledge of the latest technical data and service procedures
- Retain essential tools necessary to complete assigned repairs
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and lock up all tools daily
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience and strong knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing systems such as engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
- Previous (1-2 years) of automotive technician experience
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a favorable motor vehicle record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
