About the role
The Empire Automotive Group, located in Green Brook, NJ, is seeking a certified automotive technician with dealership experience to join their team. This position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities
- Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies.
- Test-drives vehicles and tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnostics, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicates directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about any additional service needs and provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- Certified automotive technician experience at an automotive dealership.
- Strong understanding of the service drive.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer competencies.
- Positive, friendly attitude along with a customer service mentality.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively.
- Able to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications.
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
