Job Description
Sought is a dependable Automotive Technician to join our esteemed fleet maintenance team. This role involves maintaining a wide variety of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from different manufacturers. These vehicles utilize propulsion systems like diesel, gasoline, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric in certain areas. Automotive Technicians are expected to troubleshoot and maintain systems such as hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Maintains compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements for the job assignment.
- Frequently bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots during work hours.
- Sits occasionally, as needed, during work hours.
- Performs simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaches from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks.
- Operates standard and manual transmissions.
- Operates power and pneumatic tools.
Requirements
- Active driver’s license issued by the state.
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, and Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on location needs.
- Required to possess the necessary hand tools for the job assignment.
Knowledge And Skills
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
- Possesses a full set of personal hand tools.
- Preferred to hold a Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Dependable with the ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled workdays consistently.
- Available to work varied shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime based on service needs.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required.
- Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outside inclement weather.
- Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
