Automotive Technician

Job Description

The Mechanic 1st Class is responsible for the upkeep and repair of a wide array of equipment, such as delivery vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, on-road tractors, and trailers sourced from different manufacturers. They specialize in diagnosing and fixing issues with hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines.

Responsibilities

• Repairs gas and propane vehicles.
• Operates standard and manual transmission.
• Operates power and pneumatic tools.
• Ensures all vehicles are maintained regularly and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in preventive maintenance, electrical diagnostics.
• Medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.

Requirements

• Must have an active driver’s license issued by the state.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must be willing to work 6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. shift, Monday-Friday.
• Must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.
• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment.

Pay

The starting pay for this position is $39.50 per hour with a one-year progression to top pay $47,68. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.

Schedule

Must be willing to work 6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. shift, Monday-Friday.
