Automotive Technician
Job Description
Sought after a dependable Automotive Technician to join our distinguished fleet maintenance team. This role will oversee a broad spectrum of equipment, encompassing delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles utilize propulsion systems like diesel, gasoline, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in certain areas. Automotive Technicians must be adept at troubleshooting and maintaining diverse systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Meets DOT requirements as per job assignment
- Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout the workday
- Sits infrequently, as required, throughout the workday
- Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaches from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
- Operates standard and manual transmission
- Operates power and pneumatic tools
Requirements
- Active driver’s license issued by the state
- Willingness to work 3rd shift (6:00 PM - 3:00 AM) Monday through Friday
- Required to possess the necessary hand tools for the job
- Preferred to hold a Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Dependable with the ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled workdays consistently
- Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime based on service needs
- Wears personal protective equipment as required
- Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
- Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Knowledge And Skills
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
- Possesses full complement of personal hand tools

Compensation
The starting pay for this position is $39.08 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
