Automotive Technician
Job Description
Sought is a dependable Automotive Technician to join our distinguished fleet maintenance team. This role involves maintaining a broad spectrum of equipment, encompassing delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles utilize propulsion systems like diesel, gasoline, compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric in certain locations. Automotive Technicians are expected to handle troubleshooting and maintenance of various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Maintains compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements as per job assignment
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, turning/pivoting throughout the workday
- Sitting occasionally, as needed, throughout the workday
- Performing simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks
- Operating standard and manual transmissions
- Operating power and pneumatic tools
Requirements
- Active driver’s license issued by the state
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need
- Possession of required hand tools for the applicable job assignment
- Vermont Safe Inspection Certification
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
- Possession of full complement of personal hand tools
- Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred
- Dependable with the ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workdays consistently
- Available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs
- Wears personal protective equipment as required
- Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.
- Communicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Knowledge And Skills
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
- Possession of full complement of personal hand tools
- Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred

Pay Range
