Automotive Technician

About the role

The Automotive Technician / Mechanic diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles efficiently while adhering to MAP guidelines, dealership standards, and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles based on certifications and experience.
• Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with accuracy and efficiency.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including managers, service consultants, and customers.
• Recommend necessary services to maintain the vehicle’s condition and document all recommendations in customer files.
• Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintain and renew ASE certifications as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience/training (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to work Monday through Saturday.
• At least 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous/non-hazardous materials.
• Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat or cold.

Physical Demands

• Stand for up to eight hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; full range of motion in arms, hands, and fingers.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Hear and speak clearly; vision sufficient for detecting color, depth, and re-focusing.

Flag rate, depending on experience.
