About the role
The Automotive Technician/Mechanic diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles efficiently while adhering to MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer’s, and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
- Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
- Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including Store Manager, Service Consultants, and/or customers.
- Recommend services necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; document all recommendations in the customer file.
- Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
- Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renew expiring certifications.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience/training.
- Possess a current, valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work Monday - Saturday.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous/non-hazardous materials.
- Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat and/or cold depending on ambient outdoor temperatures.
- Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to access various building areas.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; full range of motion with arms and hands required.
- Frequently feel, handle, or finger objects.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Hear and speak clearly; vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.
