Automotive Technician

Overview

Group 1 Automotive is hiring experienced Main Line Automotive Technicians across multiple Bob Howard dealership locations in Oklahoma City and Edmond. This opportunity is built for skilled, bumper-to-bumper technicians who know diagnostics, drivability, electrical, suspension, brakes, and transmissions—and take pride in doing the job right.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex automotive systems including engine, transmission, drivability, electrical, HVAC, suspension, and braking systems
• Perform advanced diagnostics using professional scan tools and testing equipment
• Independently manage assigned bay(s), repair orders, and workflow
• Accurately document diagnostics, repair recommendations, and completed work
• Collaborate with service advisors to explain repair needs and timelines
• Maintain productivity and quality in a flat-rate or performance-based environment
• Adhere to shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
• Proven ability to run your own bay independently
• Strong diagnostic skills with minimal supervision
• Solid understanding of: Electrical systems, Engine and drivability diagnostics, Suspension, steering, brake, and HVAC systems
• Experience performing major repairs in an OEM dealership setting
