Automotive Technician

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform advanced vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Perform emissions testing (state inspections were applicable).
• Move vehicles as needed.
• Manage vehicle inventory.
• Document all work performed in DT systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and compliance.

Requirements

• Proficient in automotive repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic automotive concerns.
• Ability to explain automotive repairs and issues to management.
• Able to meet metric performance targets.
• Ability to learn and operate basic computer systems.
• Organized and punctual.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work space.
• Able to learn and comply with all DriveTime standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Standing for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping.
• Pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet.
• May have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires use of safety equipment such as face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Requires some driving and frequent typing.
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
• Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance of the position in a safety-sensitive/technical environment.
