Automotive Technician
About the role
Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO), part of Bridgestone Americas, operates more than 2,200 company-owned stores across North America with over 22,000 teammates. As an Automotive Technician, you will learn and develop foundational skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles while contributing to the success of our service team. You will work under experienced technicians, perform routine inspections, assist in repair procedures, and interact with customers to explain repair work and provide exceptional service. This role offers hands-on learning in a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to build a solid foundation in automotive repair.
Responsibilities
- Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services.
- Perform inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems.
- Install batteries and check electrical systems.
- Perform tire maintenance.
- Install parts.
- Road test vehicles.
- Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least one of A1 – A8 within the first two years of employment (Tests and registration fees are paid for by the company; technicians receive a bonus for each test passed).
Requirements
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
- Must have a valid automobile driver’s license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Basic understanding of general automotive maintenance and tire repair services, including oil changes, basic inspections, and repairing tires.
- Reading, writing, and math skills.
Qualifications
- 2 years of automotive repair experience.
- Completion of a Vocational-Technical School program in a related field.
- Demonstrated skills via third-party certificates or assessments.
- A.S.E. certification or equivalent external qualifications or training certifications.

Pay
Pay range: $17.50 – $26.30. Technicians are compensated under a performance-based flat-rate pay model, rewarding efficiency and task completion with predetermined amounts for eligible tasks. Rates reflect average productivity by region and meet or exceed applicable minimum wage requirements.
