About the role

AAMCO Milwaukie is seeking a top-tier Auto Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our high-volume service center. We handle full-service engine repairs, advanced drivability issues, and general total car care. Crucially, this position does NOT require transmission rebuilding experience. We handle the internal bench-work. We need a master of vehicle systems who takes pride in diagnostic accuracy and quality heavy-line repairs. We are highly interested in service technicians with a strong background in engine rebuilding, timing chains, and engine diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Execute engine swaps, timing chains, head gaskets, and full vehicle inspections.
  • Remove and install automatic, manual, and CVT transmissions smoothly and accurately.
  • Help guide B and C level car mechanics when complex physical repairs require collaboration.
  • Work alongside our service writers to document precise diagnoses for accurate estimates.
  • Utilize advanced scanning tools to identify mechanical and drivability issues on a broad variety of domestic and foreign makes.
  • Customer trust: Work alongside our service writers to document precise diagnoses for accurate estimates.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience (Independent shop or Dealership).
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic capability and heavy mechanical repair skills (Engine repair background highly preferred).
  • Certifications: Active ASE Certifications are heavily favored (ASE Master Tech status earns top-tier pay).
  • Tooling: Ownership of a professional-grade toolset to independently tackle high-level repairs.
  • Language: English (Preferred).
  • Qualifications

    • Education: Not specified.
    • Driving: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
