About the role
This position is primarily responsible to diagnose and service a broad range of vehicle repair issues ensuring proper performance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive systems including, but not limited to, brakes and hydraulic, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, HVAC, and computer systems
- Adequately explain diagnosis discovered during inspection to non-mechanical individuals
- Record inspection findings so that costs are accurately estimated
- Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
- Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools, and repair techniques through paid formal training
- Maintains a clean and organized repair facility
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience as an automotive technician in a professional setting
- A clean, valid California driver’s license
- Vocational or technical school training is preferred
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems with or without general supervision
- Excellent judgement and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and ability to handle work-related stress are required
- Team player with a “can do” attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for employees and customers
- Physical demands: regularly required to talk and hear; position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day; must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay
Hourly rate range of $35-37/hr.
Schedule
Daytime work hours.
