Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, braking, and electrical systems.
- Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
- Carry out thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance.
- Repair and replace advanced components such as ECMs, TCMs, ADAS systems, and high-voltage battery systems.
- Stay current with automotive technology advancements, including electric vehicle (EV) systems, autonomous driving features, and connectivity solutions.
- Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and communicate technical information to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and shop safety standards.
- Mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing expertise and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Complete repairs efficiently while adhering to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
- Document all work performed, including parts used, labor time, and diagnostic findings, in the shop’s management system.
Total Compensation Overview
A Technician will earn a competitive salary of $65,000 - $140,000+ annually with a potential weekly production bonus. Required Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma, GED, or technical school graduate/certification
- Experience: 5 years minimum experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources and training to independently perform a variety of basic to complex repairs and maintenance of automobile and truck vehicles.
- Understand and consistently demonstrate the proper use of equipment and tools used in such repair and maintenance, as well as the need to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Ability to consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service score
- Ability to prioritize and deliver work on time.
- Have the ability to mentor and train lower-level technicians to develop these technicians and help them be successful.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Certifications (A1 – A8) with Master Technician designation or the equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications.
- ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist is preferred
- State inspection certificate, where applicable
- AC 609 Certification
