Automotive Service Technician/State Inspector
Responsibilities
- Perform quality maintenance and repairs according to repair orders and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose vehicle concerns using diagnostic tools and electronic test equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and drivability concerns
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems as needed
- Communicate clearly with Service Advisors regarding diagnostic findings and any additional recommended repairs
- Provide accurate estimates of the time needed to complete additional repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work as part of a team committed to quality repairs and excellent customer service
Requirements
- Automotive technician experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of automotive systems
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology and diagnostic systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Virginia State Inspection license is a plus, but not required
