Automotive Service Technician

About the role

Model 1 Commercial Vehicles, founded in 1980, is the nation’s largest dealership representing over 20 top manufacturers across the U.S. The company partners with customers to provide creative solutions and visionary thinking, offering custom-built vehicles, alternative fuel and electric vehicle options. As a technician, you will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments, diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicles while using computerized diagnostics equipment and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, test, and repair vehicles
• Use computerized diagnostics equipment and service manuals
• Collaborate with team members and other departments

Requirements

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Automobile, Medium/Heavy Truck, School Bus, Transit Bus
• Work experience in an automotive, truck, or fleet service environment
• Current Driver’s License (CDL is a plus)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Recent verifiable experience in a light or medium duty automotive service facility
• Possess appropriate hand tools (Tool Program available)
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Great attitude and work ethic; punctuality

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds
• Frequent kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing required
• Good manual dexterity
• Maintain a valid driver’s license (including passing medical exam, driving test, and other license requirements)

Pay

Pay Range: $17‑$19 per hour

Schedule

Guaranteed 40 hours per week – hourly (not flat rate)
