Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications and experience.
  • Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
  • Complete work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including Store Managers, Service Consultants, and customers.
  • Recommend necessary services to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly document all recommendations in the customer file.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
  • Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renew expiring certifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive technician/mechanic experience.
  • Ability to properly use computerized equipment for diagnostics.
  • Possess a valid Nevada driver’s license or obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Possess a State Inspector License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current ASE certifications.
  • Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous/non-hazardous materials.
  • Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat and/or cold depending on ambient conditions.
  • Stand up to five hours per day and walk to access various areas of the building.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly up to 10 hours per day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle, or finger objects frequently.
  • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Hear and speak clearly.
  • Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.
