About the role
At PLS Auto, headquartered in Chicago, our mission is to deliver a top-tier used car buying experience to our customers. We help customers with challenged credit and finances find affordable cars they need, offering purchasing, auto financing, servicing, and maintenance on-site. The Sales Associate will guide prospects through the application and approval process, help select a qualifying vehicle, finalize sales, and cultivate customer relationships to achieve sales volume and other success metrics.
Responsibilities
- Meet and obtain qualification information from potential customers at the dealership, via telephone, and through social media.
- Establish and maintain referral relationships with outside business partners, including automobile salespeople at other dealerships and professionals who interact with our customer base.
- Guide customers through the sales, underwriting, and delivery process.
- Use available tools to track, maintain, and cultivate potential customers.
- Demonstrate automobiles by explaining characteristics, capabilities, features, benefits, warranties, optional service contracts, and insurance requirements; conduct test drives.
- Maintain relationships and provide customer service to existing clients to increase repeat and referral sales.
Requirements
- Energetic, outgoing, and personable.
- Able to comfortably communicate with all types of individuals.
- Ability to think quickly, communicate effectively, and accept rejection.
- Sales or customer service background in a commercial setting such as automobile sales, rent-to-own furniture, pawn shops, payday lending, or leasing.
- Willingness to work hours as business needs dictate, including evenings and weekends, on a commission pay basis.
- Valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and ability to drive different types of vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand and walk for several hours a day.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions when necessary.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, and bend over as required to show, clean, and demonstrate a vehicle.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
