About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Repair Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and general repairs on trucks, trailers, and automotive equipment. This position is ideal for a dependable, hands-on mechanic with strong truck and automotive repair experience who takes pride in quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, including lube, oil, and filter changes, battery replacement, and routine service.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and chassis-related issues.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers, and automotive equipment.
- Inspect equipment and identify required repairs, replacement components, and parts.
- Identify automotive, truck, diesel engine, and chassis components.
- Research and source parts required for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and efficient work practices.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following established safety procedures.
- Work independently or collaboratively to complete assigned maintenance and repair work.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional, hands-on mechanical experience.
- Strong experience with automotive, truck, diesel, or chassis repair.
- Own professional mechanic tools, including a rolling toolbox or tool cart.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on mechanical work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance and mechanical repair procedures.
- Ability to identify automotive and truck parts accurately.
- Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications
- Experience working on trucks, trailers, fleet vehicles, or heavy automotive equipment.
- Diesel engine and truck chassis repair experience.
- Shop-based mechanical repair experience.
- UTI or similar automotive technical training.
- Spanish-speaking ability.
