Automotive Refinish Technician (Collision Center Paint Technician) Jack Giambalvo Collision Center
About the role
Join our newly renovated, state-of-the-art Collision Center in York, PA as a Collision Center Paint Technician. We're looking for an experienced professional who takes pride in producing exceptional refinish work, enjoys working with modern equipment, and is committed to delivering outstanding craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for refinishing
- Sand, mask, prime, seal, and refinish repaired vehicles
- Mix and match paint using computerized mixing systems and manufacturer formulas
- Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and specialty finishes
- Blend adjacent panels for seamless color matching
- Operate spray guns, paint booths, prep stations, and refinishing equipment
- Inspect finished repairs for color match, gloss, texture, coverage, and overall quality
- Perform quality control inspections and correct imperfections as needed
- Maintain paint equipment, spray guns, booths, and work areas
- Follow OEM repair procedures, ICAR standards, and all environmental and safety regulations
- Collaborate with estimators, body technicians, detail technicians, and management to ensure timely, high-quality repairs
- Treat every customer's vehicle with professionalism and care
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of automotive collision paint/refinishing experience preferred
- Experience with paint mixing, color matching, blending, and refinishing techniques
- Experience using computerized paint mixing systems
- Knowledge of OEM repair procedures
- ICAR Certification preferred
- ASE Refinish Certification preferred
- Paint Manufacturer Certifications are a plus
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 70 pounds
- Ability to work safely around paint products, spray equipment, and collision repair tools
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced collision repair environment
