Automotive Parts Counterperson
Responsibilities
- Greet customers by phone/greet mechanics at the counter and assist them with any inquiries.
- Look up and determine correct parts needed for a particular job.
- Bill out parts.
- Invoice & close parts tickets.
- Consult with customer/mechanic on applicable parts and recommended/required parts for the intended repair (gaskets, fluids, nuts, bolts, etc.).
- Keep customer/mechanic informed on part arrival times/shipping status and possible changes.
- Provide concierge/receptionist support for all owner inquiries, whether by phone or in person, to assure the customer has a positive service experience.
- Build strong relationships with the customers.
- Understand and implement Ford Warranty Processes designated by management.
Qualifications
- Parts Counter Selling Experience Required (NAPA, AutoZone, etc.).
- Valid Driver's license and clean background.
- Able to work efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills - quick & accurate typing.
- Must be able to read, process and create shop estimates.
- Professional phone skills with ability to manage multiple calls at a time.
- General understanding of automotive workings and repairs.
About the Role
We are seeking an afternoon shift for Parts Counterperson to join our team at Sunset Ford in St. Louis. This shift is 9am - 6pm Mon-Fri (1-hour lunch), but potentially change to 11am - 8pm (1-hour lunch) as we aim to open a second shift in the late evenings - so applicants must be flexible with evening hours.
