Automotive Parts Counterperson

Sheehy Auto Stores, a Top Workplace in Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Richmond and one of the country’s Top 30 Private Dealer groups, is seeking a Parts Counterperson. The role involves purchasing, selling, inventorying stock, and issuing parts in a busy dealership environment, offering great pay, benefits, and a family‑like atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Determine parts needs and accurately specify parts.
• Create and modify purchase orders.
• Issue purchase orders to the appropriate vendor.
• Record warranty parts returned.
• Enter ordered parts into the dealership computer system and notify the ASM, technician, or client upon receipt.
• Review ordered parts tracking.
• Process and close open invoices.
• Compare invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received.
• Maintain records of outside purchases and parts received and issued.
• Perform ongoing warehouse parts inventory.
• Attend weekly department meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of dealership warehouse experience and training.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background screening, motor vehicle record check, and drug test.
• Valid driver’s license.
